In Jerusalem, the disciples were in constant danger. Every chance the Scribes had, they would always turn against them.
Peter, Paul, John, and Phillip were always away spreading the Word and founding new groups of followers of Christ's teachings.
As Paul passed by Athens, he made it clear to the Greeks that the gods that they had formerly followed were all subordinate to the One and Only, Omnipotent, Almighty, and Everlasting God, Who ruled over all the Worlds including Olympus. Everyone wanted to hear Paul’s explanation. Upon request, Paul mentioned his belief in the constant return of human souls to Earth. Furthermore, he also stated that very few Jews shared such a belief because the Scribes only taught it to those who were chosen to further their learning. Nowadays, most people know nothing about this subject, but it would be necessary for all human beings to learn more about it.
Paul's wonderful experience is recorded and narrated in the book Os Apóstolos de Jesus (available in English).
Paul was one of those greatly responsible for spreading the Word. He did this with his heart filled with courage and joy.
Since most of the temples and religious leaders rejected Jesus' Teachings, the disciples took charge of announcing the Truth throughout the world to all the peoples. It was never stated, or determined, that they had to establish a church just because Jesus' Message brought common sense, understanding, and unity to the "old knowledge". Once His new knowledge had originated from the Luminous Heights, and It was above any earthly, ecclesiastic organization.
And so, Paul was guided to the presence of Nero, who became motivated by the conversation they had had. Paul taught the emperor about the new belief, but Nero expressed a lot of confusion as if there were something wrong with his understanding. Sometimes, Nero even asked for advice about political affairs, which Paul preferred to avoid.
But, the emperor was too weak spiritually to face the Truth that would eventually grow stronger and benefit many of his people. Unfortunately, he chose to let himself be dominated by his vanity and pleasures. The court also became jealous of Peter, so they prevented any beneficial influence on the emperor, who slowly became more docile and submissive as his mental ailment got worse.
After Paul's death, Peter went after Nero and was arrested. Nero ordered him to be taken away, but Peter accused him of the many deaths that had occurred:
“Nero, you will never have peace here on Earth. I am terrified just to think what awaits you later.”
Nero was outraged with Peter’s accusation and sentenced him to be crucified. At the time of his execution, Peter shouted in a loud voice:
“A disciple needs nothing better than his Master, so you can crucify me upside down to make me suffer more, and thus in a different way than Jesus did.
You can kill us, but the Truth shall endure and will conquer the world! But, only the ones who belong to the Truth will hear His voice. Those who listen to it will be preserved until the coming of the Son of Man in order to release the Final Judgment.”
After the deaths of Paul and Peter, their followers went on with the work of “spreading the word” and faced the hostility of pagans and Jews, who were quite attached to their beliefs and traditions. Peter was the first one who intuitively felt and developed the conviction in Jesus' Word, and who also lived according to His teachings. That alone was as if he had received the key to Paradise. Abdruschin clarifies this in his Message:
“Christ wished and could only lay the foundation for a community upon such a conviction, but not upon any person! Peter merely happened to be the first who really expressed this conviction in words. The conviction developed, formed and became the rock, but not Peter as a person!”
In the second century A.D., a religious organization arose and it had a great chance to expand in Europe since the population felt strongly attracted by Jesus' Teachings.
The structure of that church extended throughout the civilized world. Constantine took over the Roman Empire. He considered Christianity important for the unity of the Empire. The bishops took over Rome. Therefore, in the third century, a new religion began to confront the old religion of the Jewish people.
The Roman Empire was destroyed by barbarians from Northern Europe, and in the following ten centuries, the “Church” ruled over Europe, both culturally and politically. Then, the Church introduced concepts that were believed to be interesting, such as dogmas and threats of condemnation to hell. Moreover, rules that favored the expansion of clerical power were established. This was the period classified by historians as "The Dark Ages."
Humanity today still lives under the influence of darkness, which was created by people’s wrongdoing and their ignorance about the Laws of Creation. However, that period in particular was clearly a period of darkness when Jesus' Word was outrageously mutilated.
Thus, for more than a thousand years, the ecclesiastical power became stronger and stronger. In other words, the power of the Church ruled over humanity and dictated all the laws under which the people, as well as the State, should live as well as what could, and could not be taught to humankind. The Earth was the center of the Universe. Popes and bishops controlled the world.
Around the 14th century, a new organization took place: the movement of Renaissance. It was led by a group of people who wanted a renewal of their lives. They also fought to be freed from the ties imposed by the Church and its dogmatism, which had changed Christianity into something artificial, contradictory, and illogical.
In the 15th century, the theologian Martin Luther opposed the Pope and founded a church that sought a simple cult without artificiality. During that time, Europe underwent a period that was troubled by religious wars and power tussles.
Luther's pioneer attitude encouraged many people who disapproved of the tyrannical work of the Church and thus strengthened the Protestant reformation.
Many Protestants took refuge in North America and were willing to form a new world and religion without the influence of the inventions that had been introduced by humankind.
The Church continued with its method of imposing its dominion and beliefs. The mantle of the “conversion to Christianity” had given cover to human greed.
The Inca kingdom was invaded by the Spanish and was massacred. Their gold and all their riches were unscrupulously plundered. In spite of this, although poverty spread among the people, the opulent aristocracy did not care to improve their way of life.
In the 18th century, the Enlightenment arose. It was a movement that advocated the use of science and reason in the reappraisal of accepted ideas and social institutions , as they wanted better living conditions for the poor.
With the decadence of the monarchy, the State finally conquered its independence from the Church. It began the process of transferring power to the financial-economic sphere with the decreasing participation of the Church, which, up to then, had been quite extensive and unrestricted in all sectors of human life.
With the apogee of overseas navigation, the world expanded with the discovery of the American continent and the African coastal borders along the Atlantic Ocean.
In the beginning of the 18th century, a dissident group led by Empress Maria Leopoldina fought against henchmen of darkness and reached their goal - Brazil's Independence, an anchorage point of the Light. If the Emperor D. Pedro the 1st had been stronger, he would have begun a great empire in search of the Light of Truth.
Postponing Brazil's Independence could have hindered the attainment of its special status as a "chosen country" where people now have the right to choose their beliefs and religion without any kind of discrimination or persecution. Although distressed, as well as economically and socially underdeveloped, the Brazilian people today enjoy the freedom of seeking the Light of Truth, as it was promised by Jesus: “Seek and ye shall find!” Furthermore, according to the Law of Reciprocal Action, only he who sincerely spends his years searching will find what he is looking for, and the freedom for that is a reality in Brazil. This makes Brazil a blessed country where people are not embarrassed to talk about the Highest Lord of All the Worlds, the Powerful Almighty Creator, the One and Only God of the past and of the future, and of all eternity.
Now, humanity has finally stepped over into the 21st century amid poverty and suffering. Current indicate that there is no way to prevent increasing economic and social poverty, leading toward a world of tremendous chaos, a fact which has been carefully disguised for a long time. The African Continent fits the role model of the human decadence very well: hunger, poverty, disease - a continent where 25 million people are currently infected with the AIDS virus and an estimated 17 million have already succumbed to this disease.
Money, one of the inventions of Man, has become the great trump of materialism, and is idolized by a “modern gold calf.“
But, in the 20th century, with the beginning of the Final Judgment, something else also arose: The Light of the Truth. The approach of the Great Comet impelled the harvest of everything that humankind has sown.
In Jerusalem, in the year 2000, a symbolic meeting of the three most important religious dignitaries took place at the site where Jesus had walked. They met, but each one kept their separate truth.
The hypertrophy of the intellect and the proliferation of bad qualities among human beings have ensured Man’s distance from spiritual life. Life on Earth has become troubled in every way. Tragedies, natural disasters, and discontent have increased among the people, who are eager to find someone to blame for all the sad happenings, disregarding their own acts of opposition to God's Will.
